
The Solar Plexus is related to the transition from simple or base to complex emotion, energy, dynamism , willpower, assimilation and digestion, Manipura is said to radiate and distribute prana to the rest of the body. The color in the solar plexus represents the center vibration of your being. The Solar Plexus is associated with power and wealth, and is called the money pot by the Hindus. This is the center of self-esteem and ego. If there is a big ball of bright color here you are probably learning about your own sense of personal power. Located midway between the rib cage and the navel, this is the sense of identity. The solar plexus chakra is associated with the fire element because fire provides warmth and comfort, but also can cause fear and terror. This chakra spans a wide emotional area. The solar plexus chakra allows one to really know oneself. Symbolised by a lotus with ten petals.
Physical function:The Solar plexus chakra is associated with the pancreas, liver, gall bladder, spleen, digestive system and nervous system. The solar plexus is the organizing brain of the nervous system and as such, is an important power center that should be kept in a perfect equilibrium.
Psychological Function: Personal Power, Will, Knowledge, Wit, Laughter, Mental Clarity, Humor, Optimism, Self-Control, Curiosity, Awareness
Lesson Personal power–The right to think. Balance of intellect, self-confidence and ego power. Ability to have self-control and humor.
Imbalances Digestive problems, ulcers, diabetes, hypoglycemia, constipation. Nervousness, toxicity, parasites, colitis, poor memory.
Some signs that the Solar Plexus Chakra is out of balance are:
- Difficulty concentrating
- Poor ability to make decisions or judge a situation accurately
- A feeling that you are more or less important than other people
- Responsibility issues, caring for others, trust, fear, guilt, career, intimidation, personal honor, victimization feelings and courage. Self concern issues; self-respect, sensitivity to criticism, self-esteem, self-worth and own confidence.
- Indigestion, stomach, intestinal and colon problems. Eating disorders. Diabetes, arthritis, adrenal, pancreas, liver dysfunctions, gall bladder, kidneys and ulcers. Spleen and middle of back problems.
- Trouble taking action or getting things done. Spiritual ignorance, thirst, jealousy, treachery, shame, fear, disgust, delusion, foolishness and sadness.
